About the Journal
The scientific journal Miscellanea Historico-Iuridica (MHI) has been published continuously since 2003. It was initiated as an annual, and since 2014 it has been published biannually. The periodical is developed by the staff of the Department of Legal-Historical Sciences, Philosophy, Theory of Law and Comparative Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Bialystok.
The texts published in our pages are of historical and legal nature or deal with contemporary law with a clear historical context. The journal presents texts from Roman law to the history of 20th century law. A significant part of the texts focuses on the history of the law of communist countries and the history of law in Central and Eastern Europe. Our periodical publishes research articles, glosses and review articles, each subject to double review and checking by an anti-plagiarism system.
In the individual volumes and issues we will find the results of work of researchers from scientific and academic centres from different parts of Poland, Europe and the world, as well as recognised or prospective scientists cooperating with the Faculty of Law of the University of Białystok. An important part of every volume is made up of archival documents resulting from the research of our authors, as well as a chronicle of the Bialystok legal historian community.
Individual issues are regurarly devoted to specific leading themes (e.g. the Russian revolutions, the Versailles system), which are determined on the basis of demand for the study of specific topics, upcoming anniversaries of socio-legal and political events, current events and the latest trends in scholarship. Other notebooks are collections of varia, i.e. the most interesting submitted texts on various topics, or collections of post-conference articles.
